Finca El Oasis

Tangelo, Apricot, Panela, Hazelnut

After years of cupping 1 or 2 samples every month, we’ve finally found a Colombian that just blew us away with its juicy notes of tangelo, apricot, panela and hazelnut. This fine coffee produced by a small family farm is bound to make its mark amongst this year’s lots. Brewing this coffee will let rich flavour and citrus notes shine through, finishing with a sweet hazelnut praline like finish. Try this one as batch brew to bring out some more deliciousness!

The farm owner Luz Mila González and her three children harvest varietals grown in the shade of plantains and native Colombian hardwoods. The small 9 hectares farm is tucked away deep in the mountains of Tolima. The landscape here is breathtakingly beautiful, with steep mountain peaks sitting in the shadow of the Nevado del Huila – the perpetually snow-capped volcano that gives Gaitania such fertile, volcanic soil.

After a 24 hour long dry fermentation, the coffee is washed & dried in a solar powered enclosed “Marquesina” with raised mesh beds. We’re so confident you’re going to love this fine Colombian estate lot that we bought twice our usual amount of bags to keep this coffee around for a while.
