Purosa Estate is an isolated coffee growing area farmed by local landowners deep in the New Guinea highlands. The high altitude and cooler climate is perfect for the cultivation of high-quality Arabica Coffee. With an average rainfall of 8000mm and nutrient rich volcanic soil, the small plot owners in the Purosa Valley flourish in this coffee land utopia.
The coffee trees grow in small plots and farmers use traditional and natural farming methods only. The PNG coffee is 100% free from any pesticides and fertilizers as the villages are often connected only by air travel. Almost 70% of the population are still dependent on agriculture that employs village people for harvesting.
Papua New Guinea origins are a beautiful and bold with sweet round aromas of nut, milk chocolate and dry fruits. The coffee has a full body with a smooth mouth feel and soft acidity. Almost all (close to 98%) of Purosa Estate’s crop is exported to Japan, where discerning palates demand excellence. That speaks for its high quality.
